About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for multiple aspects of the day-to-day running at Cropster in its two Austrian offices and work closely with our global Administration and Accounting team. You will own a diverse and interesting set of responsibilities across various aspects of the business. You will be instrumental to our growth as a company through the improvement of existing processes, as well as the introduction of new ones. This position is available part-time with a minimum of 32 working hours per week.

What you will do

  • Proactively manage our offices including their inventory, equipment, and supplies to ensure (home) office efficiency and maintain compliance with safety standards and company policy.
  • Manage relationships with external providers (e.g. energy, water, internet, shipping, telephone, etc.) and be their contact person at Cropster.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day office activities such as handling incoming and outgoing shipments, addressing office visitors, answering the main Cropster phone, etc.
  • Define, refine and document administrative and accounting processes, standards, and interfaces with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. accountant).
  • Perform preparative accounting (e.g. expenditures, receipts, invoices, etc.).

Requirements

We are looking for a person with

  • High school diploma (HAK, HLW/HBLA, etc.) plus prior working experience in a comparable role or any other position where you organized yourself and coordinated with other teams.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and German.
  • Willingness to take over ownership and work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and a drive for scalable processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with online tools like Google Workspace or MS Office 360, in particular a good working knowledge and interest in Google Sheets or Excel.

That said, we'd be particularly delighted to hire someone with

  • The ability to communicate in additional languages (we have many international people on our team!).

At this point, Cropster will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Austria for this opening. For Non-EU applicants: please attach your work permit to your application.

Why you might want to work with us

  • We're small, so there are no layers of bureaucracy to work through.
  • You can have a huge impact here.
  • We care about our people as much as we care about our customers. Work-life balance is not only a catchphrase for us and flex time and home office are a given.
  • Feedback equals growth for us. Welcoming and sharing insights help us grow personally and professionally.
  • People working in the coffee industry are passionate, open, inspiring, and just pure joy to work with. There are not many industries that can claim that.
  • Purpose. Our ❤ beats for coffee and its industry—from producer to barista—and our work has a lasting impact on it.
  • We have a deep appreciation for a good cup of coffee and don’t get through the day without (at least) one.

Why you might not want to work with us

  • We’re small, we don't have processes for everything. If you need 100% structure and prefer micromanagement, we won't make you happy.
  • We grow and move at a steady pace and still learn new things as we go. If you’re reluctant to change and like things the way they are, we’re probably not a perfect match.
  • If the things mentioned in the why you might want to work with us section aren’t for you.

Do you only have your application documents ready in German and no time to translate them? Don't worry, we're happy to receive them in either language - just send them over!
