Chris Hallien joins Cropster as Product Manager for Roast and Lab

Please join us in welcoming specialty coffee veteran Chris Hallien as Product Manager aboard the Cropster team! He'll be working with roasteries, labs, and green coffee businesses with a focus on research, development and new product initiatives. You can read the full press release here.

 

Innsbruck, Austria, 19th, March 2018 Specialty coffee veteran Chris Hallien brings extensive coffee experience to the industries #1 software provider. Chris will work with roasteries, labs, green coffee businesses and software development experts on Cropster’s award winning Roastery and Coffee Lab solutions. He will focus on research, development and new product initiatives.

 

Chris’ experience includes coffee lab research in areas like analytical, chemical, sensory & quality analysis. He has held senior positions at specialty coffee leaders like Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea where he was Director of Roasting/Director of Coffee and Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee where he was a green coffee quality specialist. He has held leadership positions at large multinationals like Kraft and Mars as a R&D Coffee Scientist focusing on roasting operations, in product development and in green coffee buying. Chris has worked at origin in Latin America & East Africa to improve farm-level practices in areas related to increasing quality & consistency as well as green coffee processing, storage and shipping conditions.

Chris Hallien, a graduate of University of Texas, has numerous professional certifications including; Licensed Coffee “C” Grader, Licensed Coffee “Q” Grader, SCA Certified Golden Cup Technician, Applied Sensory and Consumer Science, FSMA Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and most recently a Certified Food Scientist. An active member of the SCA since 2000, he serves on the SCA Technical Standards Committee, SCA ANSI/TAG, SCA ISO committee groups and has been a Roasters Guild member since 2008. He is also a member of the Institute of Food Technologists.
