December 2022 Release Notes

You asked for features and we listened! We are ending 2022 with an array of new features and improvements and are planning for another year of more features. This is how we are ending December and ending the year.

All Products

What’s happened?

  • Enhanced Lot sharing simplifies communication with important stakeholders at your business and in your supply chain about your coffees. You can share a direct link to Cropster that contains the full lot details (or download a PDF), making it easy to share important information about your coffee lots, which are entire profiles that define varieties, processes, supply network, inventory levels, physical/sensory attributes, and much more!

Origin

What’s happened?

  • Green Coffee Classifications help dry mills grade and sort their coffees throughout the milling process. Grades can be country specific (e.g. AA, AB, Excelso, Supremo, etc.) or you can create your own classifications. Different attributes, such as screen size, defects, cupping scores, and sensory notes, can be used to grade and classify the milled coffee. Cropster then calculates the percentages and total weight of each grade.

Roast

What happened?

  • Extended Profile Groups make it easier to define roasted Products. With Profile Groups, similar Profiles are organized and linked to a specific product. For example:
    • If you roast different batch sizes for the same single-origin coffee, you likely have different roast profiles.
    • Profile Groups organize these different profiles into one group that is connected with that one single origin green coffee lot.
    • In this way, groups help ensure consistent flavor profiles no matter the batch size, and they simplify managing multiple profiles.
    • With Cropster Cafe, your cafes and wholesale accounts integrate with Cropster! Create global guidelines for brew recipes, specify references for specific locations, and receive accurate, real-time brew information about the coffees you're roasting.

What’s coming in 2023?

  • Tasks are coming to Roast by the end of Q1! Our Tasks dashboard will undergo expanded development next year to include task management for roasteries along with cafes.
  • Get ready for an RI upgrade by the end of Q2! Planning has begun to move from RI4 to RI5, which will include major cosmetic and performance improvements.

Commerce

What’s happened?

What’s coming?

  • Roasted inventory is coming by Q2! This feature will enable users to set inventory pars and give roasters oversight into on-hand inventory of roasted coffee. This feature opens up the possibilities for roasters to not only manage their roast to order inventory schedule but also manage what is currently on the shelf.

Cafe

What’s happened?

  • Recipe ranges now expand your ability to create global guidelines for brew recipes and continue to specify references as their local dial-ins. What’s the difference between Recipe ranges and References?
    • Recipe ranges: A recipe range provides a range of parameters, or a 'global' guideline, that your cafes should loosely follow. This helps establish a starting point that your Cafe Managers and Head Baristas can follow when dialing-in.
    • References: A reference is a 'local' dial-in that is location specific. Each location can make these minor adjustments during each dial-in to make the coffee taste exceptional.

What’s coming?

  • BrewBeacon is coming to an espresso machine near you in 2023! This espresso machine connector will track brew time and brew pulses on most volumetric espresso machines.
  • Brews table will soon go into development. Brews table is a centralized page for all brews to be easily filtered and (re)assign brews to the right recipes. We expect its first version to be released early next year.
