World Coffee Roasting Competition 2015

The World Coffee Roasting Competition in Gothenburg is in full swing and we thought we would share some of the action with you, as many of us are not around to watch the Roast Competition in real time. The champions completed their second day of roasts with their selected coffees and are now giving the beans time to de-gas before cupping them and passing samples to the judges tomorrow.

The champions completed their second day of roasts with their selected coffees and are now giving the beans time to de-gas before cupping them and passing samples to the judges tomorrow. Here are the diverse profiles that they have chosen to use after their trial roasting yesterday (see below).

Practice Day

Another year has gone by and another World Coffee Championship is upon us, and this year is just as competitive as ever. The event is being held in Gothenburg, Sweden the home of the Nordic Way. Today was the first round of the competition where the champions practiced their profiles with there assigned coffees. The roasters were given 4 coffees to choose from to create both a blend and prepare a single origin roast. Each competitor is roasting on a new Giesen W6 roaster which integrates directly with the Cropster Roasting Intelligence software. For more updates on the competition follow #WCRC2015 on Twitter.
