Giesen Airflow Control and Replay

It is with excitement that we announce yet another feature that will enhance the user experience and functionality of Roasting Intelligence (RI)!

We have made many improvements over the past few years to Roasting Intelligence, from improved Rate of Rise settings and algorithms to expanded integrations with machine manufacturers. In 2020 we released the world’s first artificially intelligent roast curve prediction tool and there are more AI driven tools for roasters coming very soon!

Airflow/Drum pressure control and replay is now available for Giesen Coffee Roasters!
Cropster already delivers full gas control and replay across multiple manufacturers including Giesen but we are particularly excited about adding this key component of control to Roasting Intelligence.  This is now the second machine manufacturer with whom we have integrated airflow/drum pressure control and replay, with Probat being the first and many more to come soon including companies like Diedrich, Besca and Coffeed!

Integrated airflow control means Cropster customers can now control airflow or “drum pressure" for Giesen users from within Roasting Intelligence using a slider. It works just like integrated gas control. It is also now possible for Cropster to replay your airflow/drum pressure changes throughout the roast based on your selected reference roast.

Direct airflow/drum pressure control in Cropster joins gas control to make roasting even easier and to bring benefits like semi-automation to your connected roast machine.

The most obvious benefit of this feature is how easy it becomes to replicate any desired roast that you have stored in your Cropster account. With gas and now airflow/drum pressure assist from Cropster you can create a consistent product for your customers while making your life easier! Other benefits include more time for roasters to focus on other parts of the roasting process, and training becomes infinitely easier. We've heard repeatedly that semi-automation tools like gas and airflow/drum pressure control makes teaching new employees much easier.

What do beta testers say about airflow/drum pressure control:

"For profiles that have a constant drum speed, this is a game-changer for us and I’m sure it will be for a lot of people."

Ryan, Specialty Batch General Trading LLC

"Experience with airflow control is absolutely amazing."

Rustam, Falcon Coffee Roasters

"It is easy to use the sliders are really useful. I like how user friendly it is and how it makes everything easier to control. The big steps take away the different times I could take by getting from an airflow set to another."

Pablo, White Maze Cia Ltda

"The easy way to adjust the airflow."

Evert, Koffiebranderij Texel (KOFFIE)

"Before this version I used to work with the Cropster & Giesen profiler at the same time because I need to control the airflow, now, I use Cropster."

Benoit, CAFES WINDARA

Wondering what integrated features available for your coffee roasting machine? Visit our handy Connects to Cropster page for full machine & manufacturer details. We update this list with all our latest machine integrations as they come out, so watch that space!

Like gas control, airflow automation is simple to set up and run. A few simple clicks and it's good to go. Go to preferences in Roasting Intelligence and you’ll see a setting to turn it on. Once airflow control is enabled you’ll see the slider in the RI and you are good to roast!
