New releases

Besca Airflow Control and Replay

We're thrilled to announce that in cooperation with Besca we have developed and released airflow control semi-automation for roasters using Besca’s range of automated roasting machines.

Besca roasting machine users now have an additional tool to help them achieve their roasting goals. Cropster has worked with Besca machines for many years. Roasters using Besca equipment have benefited from many Roasting Intelligence features during that time, including the world’s first artificially intelligent roast curve prediction tools.

Airflow control and replay is now available for Besca Coffee Roasters!
With Cropster, roasters can already control gas and replay roasts across multiple manufacturers, but we are particularly excited about adding Airflow control to Besca’s automated machines because of our growing partnership. Integrated airflow control means Besca users can now control airflow from within Roasting Intelligence using a slider. It works just like integrated gas control. This innovation also means it is possible for Cropster to replay airflow changes throughout the roast on selected Besca roasting machines. Replay is an increasingly important tool for roasters as semi-automation delivers greater consistency by repeating roasts for the roaster against profiles they design and set.

Direct airflow control in Cropster joins gas control to make roasting even easier and to bring benefits like semi-automation to your connected roast machine.

The most obvious benefit of this feature is how easy it becomes to replicate any desired roast that roasters have stored in their Cropster account. With gas and now airflow assist from Cropster, roasters can create a consistent product for their customers while making their own life easier! Other benefits include more time for roasters to focus on other parts of the roasting process, and training becomes infinitely easier. We’ve also heard repeatedly that semi-automation tools like gas and airflow/drum pressure control make teaching new employees much easier.

Like gas control, airflow automation is simple to set up and run. A few simple clicks and it’s good to go. Go to preferences in Roasting Intelligence (RI) and you’ll see a setting to turn it on. Once airflow control is enabled you’ll see the slider in the RI and you are good to roast!
